Teeth Whitening West Bloomfield MI 248-363-7121

Teeth whitening is one of the most requested procedures in a dentist’s office. Dr. Patrick Qatsha discusses a new disposable teeth whitening system called Opalescence Go that he is using to whiten teeth for his patients which is drawing kudos from patients for making their teeth whiter.

This product here is called Opalescence Go. Their traditional syringe able whitening system is called Opalescence. This is Opalescence Go. So traditionally you get impressions that you take of the teeth, you have these clear trays made you have to insert the jell into the tray you have got to apply it to your teeth you have got to wear it for multiple hours and sometimes up to eight hours. You can even sleep in them. This new product is kind of a one size fits all tray. It’s a nice stiff tray it’s not like a strip or any of the other the counter things and it has, it has professional strength whitening jell in a very thick viscous formulation pre-loaded into the tray. So what you do is just take it out just tap it onto your teeth it sticks to your teeth you only have to wear it for 15 to 20 minutes you take it off and you throw it away. It’s fantastic. The price is a fraction of the price of custom made trays. So Dr. Qatsha do these disposable teeth whitening systems work as well as the traditional teeth whitening I get in say your office. These Opalescence Go trays work just as well if not better than any of the other custom whitening systems, especially the take home systems. The take home systems you have to wear them for hours and hours where this system you only have to wear it for twenty minutes. It is a faster release formulation so it gets your tooth absorbs the jell the whole tooth whitens and again you just take it off and throw it away. You do not have to your trays getting old or dirty or not fitting it you get some dental work done. So it really is a great solution to whitening. You can buy them in a whole pack of ten or you can buy them individually as touch ups as you go on after you have done your initial whitening and they really do work very well. Hey that sounds good but how many trays am I going to need to use to get my teeth whitened? Most people will need to go through at least the full kit and the full kit is ten treatments. If after you have done the full kit and you do not find the results were adequate buy another kit because in my office at least two kits is still less expensive than one of the custom whitening kits. So you really are financially better off and the results have been really great the feedbacks been really, really good from the people who have purchased them and tried them out.

Dentures Commerce Township MI

Dentures Commerce Township MI

What are the advantages of implant retained dentures over regular dentures in Commerce Township MI. The loosest denture in the mouth is usually the lower denture, since there is little to retain or hold it. What dentists usually do is put two or even four dental implants into the bottom jaw. Then, once healed, a small attachment is screwed into the implants while another attachment is placed inside the dentures, so when you put your denture on, it essentially snaps onto the implants similar to when you snap button on a jacket and it hold the dentures very tight. Those are called locators. So the advantages of the implant retained dentures are that your dentures don’t move anymore. You go from having a loosey goosey denture you are chewing it is flopping it doesn’t stay in it is embarrassing you are nervous when you go out to a denture that will literally snap onto your jaw because it connects to the implants and doesn’t move at all. So now you can go out and eat with friends with confidence it’s much more comfortable, there’s less soreness because it’s not rubbing around on your tissues. It’s pretty close to having real teeth again. It’s much, much more comfortable.
I’m sure one of the questions you’re going to get asked all the by patients is which one is more cost effective right. The regular dentures versus the implant retained dentures?

The main thing about implant retained dentures is that they’re life changing. I have people that are miserable and they have a few implants placed, it could be as little as two implants they have the attachments put into their existing denture and they can chew again so and the other thing is it’s not as expensive as people think. They always think I can’t afford implants, I can’t do implants they’re not affordable. It’s not a very quick process so most people pay payments over time which makes it much more palatable finally and really in the long term so beneficial. Another benefit is the implants you place into your jawbone will help to preserve that bone because the longer your teeth are missing the less bone you have because the bone resorbs because the only reason bone is there is to hold teeth in so no teeth no bone so if you put a couple implants in there it also helps to preserve your bone. And again, in the long term that’s going to make everything more comfortable and more stable for you for your dentures and what not.

Technology and dentistry is evolving on a daily basis so now there is technology out there that can help us find cavities in between the teeth but also on the biting surface of the teeth much earlier than we used to. One of the technologies that we use here at Dream Dental Group is called the Spectra Cavity Detector . Basically it uses trans illumination it uses a light that scans the tooth, it fluoresces through the tooth structure and measures its density so that way if there is a soft spot hiding below the surface where we wouldn’t necessarily be able to see or feel we can find it much sooner much earlier and fill it while its small.

Finding Cavities Earlier in Children

The advantages of finding cavities while they are still small is that they haven’t eaten away too much of the healthy tooth structure so you can provide much more conservative dentistry. You can remove much less tooth structure hand have much less pain, sensitivity and overall much less cost in the end if you get a cavity while its small as opposed to waiting, watching letting it grow and then what happens sometimes is that it gets to the nerve or the pulp of the tooth and that’s when you get things like toothaches, root canals and much more extensive treatment. So this digital technology helps us find cavities much earlier treat them much smaller so that you have a healthier tooth for longer.

Modern Cavity Detection With the Traditional Exam Works Best

The traditional exam for finding cavities on the biting surface if the tooth is to poke at the little pits and scrape at the little pits to see if you get a soft spot to see if you get a stick however with the extensive use of fluoride in our diets in our water in toothpaste and rinses the shell or enamel of the tooth can become quite hard so sometimes there is a cavity hiding below the surface but it is very difficult to see visually, you can’t feel it, they usually don’t show on an x-ray so a lot of times using the Spectra Cavity Detector this is the only way we can find some of these small cavities. It is FDA approved and it has been proven to be quite effective. Personally, I have found it to be a hundred percent accurate and never had a false positive with it. It’s amazing technology.
